Mitch Tuchman: The level of investment advice available to the wealthy is great, but for the every day investor, the target client for Rebalance, the person with $100,000 to a few hundred thousand dollars, that client cares about one thing and that’s funding retirement and being financial secure.
For those clients, what we’ve done is put a great deal of thought into how to bring the fees down. Generally those clients walk into most brokers today and are paying well over 2%. We were challenged with how we bring that percentage down to less than 1%, and to do that we use a lot of technology in order to keep ourselves very efficient.
We offer our clients a dedicated advisor, who will be their same advisor throughout the entire time that they are a member of the Rebalance family. But what they don’t see under the hood is a tremendous amount of technology that we use to make everybody in our company more efficient.
For example, when you schedule an appointment with Rebalance or any of your team members, you simply click on a link and their calendars are exposed to you, and you are able to book yourself in their schedule. What does that do? Saves a lot of time and a lot of back and forth.
There’s a lot of other things like that, but the way we keep our fees down, keep the money in our client’s accounts working for them, are the things in the background to make our service much more efficient.
