David Ranney Brings Over Twenty Years of Experience and Innovation to Workplace Retirement Investing
Bethesda, Md. & Palo Alto, Calif. – July 11, 2022 – Award-winning wealth management firm Rebalance is pleased to announce that David Ranney has joined as Vice President of Sales for its premier small business 401(k) offering, Better K. He will play a key driving role as Rebalance accelerates its efforts to help transform the small business retirement savings ecosystem.
Better K is Rebalance’s proprietary, innovative 401(k) offering specializing in small businesses with assets ranging from $1 million to $10 million. The Better K platform stands apart from other 401(k) solutions by reducing fees by up to 35% or more, by offering “Ivy League” endowment-style investment management, and by providing top-notch day-to-day service.
During Ranney’s 20+ year tenure at Fidelity, he led the Workplace Investing team in a variety of roles ranging from Project Manager and Relationship Manager to Vice President of Sales. Ranney has a track record of success in client-facing roles, leading 401(k) sales efforts in employer-sponsored retirement plans. While at Fidelity, he won several prestigious leadership awards, including the National Leadership Award, the President’s Circle Award, the Regional Leadership Award and the 100% Club Award in multiple years.
“We are excited to welcome David to our team to take Better K to the next level,” said Mitch Tuchman, Managing Director of Rebalance. “David brings deep expertise partnering with small businesses to provide the best retirement benefits possible. With David at the helm of Better K, we will be poised to transform the 401(k) model for small businesses.”
As Vice President of Sales at Rebalance, Ranney will partner with small businesses across many industries throughout the U.S. Within his role, he will educate small businesses about how to avoid high 401(k) fees, how to optimize asset allocation, how to increase plan participation, and how to utilize retirement planning. The net result is higher employee satisfaction and greater employee retention.
“Rebalance already is an established brand in the wealth management world. I am very excited to extend that success into the retirement space. Rebalance offers small businesses access to large endowment-caliber investment expertise combined with unparalleled customer service for plan sponsors and their employees,” said Ranney. “As someone who values the Jesuit ideal of ‘men and women for others,’ Rebalance’s mission of helping people live well and retire with more truly resonates with me. I cannot wait to get started.”
Ranney graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and he earned his Master of Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Marketing from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. He currently resides in Charleston, South Carolina.
